There was no engagement despite the Golden Bachelor Season 2 finale’s numerous emotional twists. On Wednesday, November 12, in Antigua, Peg, 62, received his final rose from Mel Owens, 66. The course of events was drastically altered when Cindy, 60, decided to leave the program before to the Fantasy Suite date.
Mel and Cindy linked immediately, but Cindy had a hard time understanding his true feelings. When Mel admitted that he hadn’t been prepared for an engagement for a few years, Cindy concluded that he wasn’t her match.
The woman said, “I can’t believe what I’m hearing.” I gave him every chance to tell him, “I’m falling for you, just be patient.” Instead, “Just wait a couple of years, let’s see where I am then,” he said. I’m sorry, but if you meet someone who could make a great wife, it’s time to commit.
Before they split ways, Cindy told Mel that she no longer believed the former NFL player could satisfy her need for a relationship that would feel like “a lightning strike” and “couldn’t live without me.”
He responded by saying, “You’re amazing, but I don’t think I want to stay uncommitted for that long.” “He has no interest in making any kind of commitment for years,” she subsequently told the cameras. I’m sixty years old, in my prime, and I don’t want to wait. He’s just not the right man for me.
After Cindy left, Mel went to Peg’s hotel room and informed her that she was the only remaining lady. However, Peg admitted that she was unsure of what to think. Peg said in her confessional,
“I know Cindy asked him some serious questions about engagement and marriage, and he couldn’t give her an answer.” That worries me. Everyone has the right to have certain desires, and she had the right to look for someone who was willing to commit.
“I’m anxious,” she went on. I came here looking for a devoted partner, and now I want to know what he really wants. Despite her misgivings, Peg decided to stay and learn more about Mel’s family, particularly his boys. She said, “The boys were absolutely amazing.” “I really value their approval.”
“I think you’re perfect for my dad—you bring out such uplifting energy in him,” one of Mel’s sons remarked. I really like Peg. She is amiable, funny, and feels like a friend. She makes me feel good. Peg is a retired Las Vegas firefighter and bomb technician, a former professional dancer who once danced with the High Rollers, and a single mother to her daughter Dakota. Throughout the season, Peg and Mel maintained a close relationship based on their love of life.
After local dates, Peg even said that she could see herself being engaged, but her daughter wasn’t persuaded when Mel claimed he wasn’t in love yet. However, Peg was giddy with anticipation and hope for their future together on their Fantasy Suite date last week.
She said, “He makes me feel seen, heard, and safe.” These are the things that actually make a relationship stronger. It’s been years since I’ve felt this way.
