Chris Pratt (born June 21, 1979, in Virginia, Minnesota, U.S.) is an American actor celebrated for his laid-back charm and versatility in portraying roles ranging from endearing comic nerds to heroic protagonists. He first became known as a television actor before becoming a major movie star.
Chris Pratt‘s mother was employed at a grocery store, whereas his father had various jobs, including in mining and residential construction. As a child, his family relocated from Minnesota to Lake Stevens in Washington, where he was raised. During his high school years, Pratt took part in school theater productions. After finishing school in 1997, he signed up for acting courses at a local community college.
He also took part in performances in community theater and dinner theater productions from time to time. He soon left school and relocated to Maui, Hawaii, where he took on various odd jobs and resided in a tent on the beach.
During his time at a restaurant job, he encountered actress Rae Dawn Chong, who cast him in her 2000 short comedy-horror film Cursed Part 3. Pratt made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles in order to pursue acting full-time.
Chris Pratt got the role of a high-school sports jock in the hit TV drama series Everwood (2002–06) after appearing in several minor roles.
