Final Moments with Family:
Steele claimed that he was content and, happily, pain-free. She said that before he died, Christina, Duong’s wife, and Everest, their five-year-old daughter, were able to bid him farewell.
Emotional Tribute on GoFundMe:
Steele said on the GoFundMe page, “He was conscious enough to say goodbye to his little girl, whom he had cherished every single day since her birth.” The effort was designed to pay for Everest’s daily expenses, care, and schooling in addition to Alex Duong‘s burial expenses. We are tremendously grateful for all of your love, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time, even though we are completely devastated.

Support for Family During Difficult Time:
As Christina and Everest prepare to celebrate Alex Duong’s wonderful life and face the days ahead, she added, “Your continued support means everything to us now.” We shall all support, uplift, and help them in whatever manner we can.
Sudden Health Crisis and Rapidly Changing Situation:
Steele said on March 27 that Duong was in septic shock and fighting for his life due to a fatal infection that had spread throughout his body. By pointing out that Christina and Alex Duong were both attempting to be strong in the midst of such a challenging circumstance in his last moments, she highlighted how swiftly things changed.
Rare Cancer Diagnosis and Impact of the Illness:
Despite having migraines behind his eye in the past, Alex Duong was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma in early 2025, a rare and aggressive cancer that affects the body’s soft tissues, according to the Los Angeles Times. His manager diagnosed him after observing edema and discolouration that appeared to be an eye bulge.
Alex Duong continued by saying that soon after medical professionals concluded that his tumor was “extremely fast-growing,” he was completely blind in his left eye. He talked about how he felt like he was “just being fed and given medication” as he sat there grieving his family and gaining weight.

Challenging Year of Treatment:
The comedian told the Times that he had “unbearable back pain” for a large portion of the next year and that he frequently visited the hospital for chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He also found it difficult to fulfill SAG-AFTRA’s minimal requirements in order to be eligible for health insurance. Seizures eventually resulted from the tumor’s strain on his brain.
Hospitalization and Further Treatment:
Due to the serious damage caused by the tumor in his spine, Duong was admitted to the hospital on March 12 for a second round of chemotherapy as his condition worsened.
